Wow -- two big thumbs up for this one. Bree Turner (WOW!) finds herself stranded on the titular mountain road, chased by a homicidal maniac. What's wonderful about Coscarelli's take, is how she reacts -- turning this stereotypical horror scenario on its head. Coscarelli has a nice eye for the dramatic shot, and the typically great interview extra shows him to be a nice guy, to boot.
Coscarelli bases the film on a story by homegrown Texan Joe Lansdale (as he did with the awesome Bubba Ho-Tep), and includes a part for his old friend from the Phantasm days, the Tall Man himself, Angus Scrimm.
And, wow! No nudity! I'm not sure how this one got by Showtime's un-censors....
