Juggling

There's a video going around my office today some 10 minutes long consisting of a juggling performance. The oohs and aahs can probably be heard across the street.

Now I know I'm coming off here as some sort of jaded, "nothing impresses me anymore" old geezer (because none of my previous blog entries could possibly engender that impression....), but what's the big deal?

I'm 42 years old, and I've seen quite a few jugglers in my time.  All were exceptionally skilled, entertaining, and able to do feats with an orange that I couldn't imagine doing.  But really -- what's the big deal?  Aren't there at least, um, three other professional juggling videos out there?  Aren't each of them equally impressive?  What is it about this particular performance that deserved 4 MB of my Inbox?

Nothing.

Is there really any less impressive form of entertainment than juggling, other than a mime performance?  Sure, I'm at the local Renaissance Festival, making the circle of shows, I sit down, I watch a juggling act.  I enjoy it.  I'm even impressed.  But I never start pacing in the early fall, anticipating my visit to the Faire to I can see the jugglers.

Seriously.  It's like looking forward to a New Orleans trip specifically to check out the street mimes.

Get a life.
